Biographies of Neighbourhood Work Centres Ltd Directors

Neighbourhood Work Centre currently employs three people full time. Two Directors Nina Reeve and
Colin Willman
and an Office Administrator, Greg Watson.


Nina Reeve GradICSA

Business Administration IT Services, Training and Support

Nina graduated in 1980 with a degree in Computer Science and Statistics and during the first eleven years of her career, provided a comprehensive range of computer services to both internal and external customers.

Commencing as an analyst/programmer, Nina progressed through systems management to implementation of information technology into business. In addition to teaching staff how to use system facilities, Nina identified and developed new procedures for the changes in working practices that would result, and trained personnel to prepare them for the transition.

Nina has now broadened her skills and knowledge of business practices and administration by studying to become a Chartered Secretary. She has completed her ICSA examinations and the qualification has been put into practice providing administration services to client companies and as Company Secretary of Support Shop Ltd.

Portfolio of services

  • Analysis of business processes and use of IT to identify training and support needs, and possibilities for streamlining operations.
  • Planning and implementing new working practices, managing the changes and providing support and training to ease transition.
  • Providing tailored IT, business and administrative support to all sizes of business.
  • Delivering tailored IT, business and user oriented training to all levels of personnel.

Production of high quality, effective documentation meeting a variety of needs including:

  • Marketing, presentation and promotional material
  • Business proposals
  • Quality management system
  • Training course presentation material and  handouts. 

Key project experience includes:

  • Development and delivery of a programme of business-based IT skills training workshops designed especially for small business managers with little or no technical experience.
  • Development and production of IS09000 system documentation for a company supplying and maintaining character recognition equipment. 
  • Implementation of a management information system into a third party computer maintenance company, over a two year period. The system and related work procedures formed the basis of the company's IS09000 quality management system.

Colin Willman ACIB

Business Skills and Financial Training and Support

Colin, during twenty five years service in Banking, has been involved in training and coaching, business plan interpretation, sales management, insurance advice and sales, payroll control, counseling (debt and small business) and management accounts. He has also had training and experience in hotel management and bookkeeping as well as having an extensive working knowledge of sports and social club management and finance.

Colin has been elected Regional Secretary and National Councillor for the Federation of Small Businesses for the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Region.

Portfolio of services

  • Development and delivery of a variety of business skills courses, both class based and one to one. Brainstorming business ideas.
  • Reviewing business plans and presentation.
  • Outplacement and career change counselling.
     

Key project experience includes:

  • Sales management of a branch bank to take it from the bottom to the top of its league. 
  • Piloting a personal development course for young employees on accelerated training programmes for Lloyds Bank. Later successfully adapting it to develop under performers.
  • Introducing business organisation and planning to sports clubs in the Thames Valley enabling them to cope with the demands and pressures now imposed on them
  • Counseling individuals for whom outplacement support has failed or been unavailable, enabling them to overcome their problems and return to the workplace.
  • Health check and activity planning consultancy to small businesses to improve efficiency, productivity and profitability. One review of a financial services business increased the turnover by a factor of six.
  • Rebuilding business plans to enable new businesses to gain finance.
  • Reviewing bank charges and accounting systems for small and medium businesses enabling savings to be made. Reducing both bank charges and accountancy fees in some cases by as much as 50%.
  • Developing financial systems and controls for a restaurant and takeaway business, to the satisfaction of the financiers, to enable the business to continue trading.
