The Teleworking Support Group (TSG) was launched in July 1997 to provide a forum for the exchange of information so that developments in teleworking can be used to benefit its members. The group is open to anyone who has an interest in teleworking and meets on a regular basis. Our newsletter 'TeleX' is published on a regular basis to keep members informed of developments. The group hopes to generate working relationships to create and sustain opportunities by bringing teleworkers into contact with the businesses which can make use of their services. TSG members receive discounts on courses and services provided by Support Shop. The Telecottage Association Telecottages provide a resource of computers, training and telecommunication facilities which can be used by local people to acquire skills or help their business or activities. The Teleworkers, Telecottage and Telecentre Association (TCA) was formed in April 1993 to spread the benefits of telecottages and teleworking, and to promote and lobby on their behalf. Here in Berkshire there is a thriving group of members who meet on a regular basis to pass on and receive information of both local and national developments; to provide mutual support; and for general social interaction. In the future the TSG hopes to extend beyond the local Bracknell area to include telecottages and teleworkers both nationwide and abroad. This can be achieved because teleworking is location independent, so groups can be formed wherever they are needed. |
